This course covers the key elements of a safety and health management system and measures needed to instill a safety culture inside the workplace. Participants will identify hazards in the workplace that create slips, trips, and falls. They will also recognize the importance of keeping exit routes clear and the criticality of training employees on fire prevention principles. Participants will be able to account for hazardous materials in the workplace and understand the associated hazards while grasping the importance of the employee’s personal protective equipment.

James Bastin
James Bastin is currently the Assistant Chief of Operations at the Blue Grass Army Depot Fire Department. Mr. Bastin comes from a diverse military background serving as EMT, Firefighter, Fire & Life Safety Inspector among other duties. Mr. Bastin is also a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Fire and Safety Engineering Program.
