Machine Shop

Machine Shop will provide instruction in the safe and proper use of basic machining tools for maintaining, modifying, and fabricating machine parts. Participants gain hands-on experience integrating precise measurement techniques with machine operations. The course reviews materials, metals, and machining processes, emphasizing practical application and skill development.

Topics covered will include:
- Measurement & Technical Skills - Measuring tools; Technical information
- Lathe Operation - Basic lathe setup; Lathe safety; Tool maintenance; Applications and operations
- Machining Tools & Techniques - Use of taps and dies; Introduction to milling

Classes will include hands-on exercises and practical learning opportunities. The course format will consist of 20 sessions of 3 hours each for a total of 60 instructional hours.

No Class on 3/10/26 or 3/12/26 due to EKU Spring Break
